Sister Maria Escayola visit to the Province of Manizales, takes place within the accompaniment and follow-up that the Congregation does to all its works worldwide. Sister María and her councilors arrive in our city after having visited the Province of Bucaramanga the previous week.

Manizales (Colombia), 08/15/2022, UCM Communications.- On Wednesday, august the 10th, the Universidad Católica de Manizales (UCM) received with open arms Sister María Escayola Coris, General Superior of the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation, who is making a Canonical visit to the provinces in Colombia and is present during this week to the works of the Congregation in Manizales.

At 8 in the morning, Sister María shared a moment of greeting with a large representation of the administrative collaborators and directors. Following this, in the council room, the rectory team and the Administrative and Financial Vice-rectory presented the Physical Planning Master Plan, where, in addition to the remodeling and strengthening works of Block C, Sister was able to see firsthand the current state of the Campus, its physical distribution by blocks and the reserved areas of the University. During the tour of the UCM Campus, Sister María Escayola evidenced the changes in the plant that the University has had since her last visit, in addition to valuing the effort that is currently being made with the remodeling works of Block C.

Subsequently, she had a fraternal meeting with the academic-administrative community of the University in the Santo Domingo de Guzmán auditorium, where she was given a complete presentation of the results of the appreciation measurement, the impact study, the competitiveness map, the progress in the academic and administrative processes and the concretion of results from the Institutional Development Plan and the Improvement Plan derived from the 2018 self-assessment process, which will be presented to the National Accreditation Council in order to achieve High Reaccreditation Quality of the UCM. Sister María Escayola received the Order of the Catholic University of Manizales from the Principal Sister Elizabeth Caicedo Caicedo and the community of Dominican Sisters of the Presentation of the UCM.

The Order of the Catholic University of Manizales was awarded to Sister María as General Superior of the Congregation of DOMINICAN SISTERS OF CHARITY OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE HOLY VIRGIN and Chancellor of the University, for her important contributions to the University during her period of Government, for the permanent communication and close accompaniment with the processes of the UCM and for keeping Marie Poussepin's legacy present in the Institution and reaffirming the commitment of the General Government with the promise of integral formation of the CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF MANIZALES.
