Feast of France
La Turena, Bucaramanga (Colombia), 07/14/2019, Sr. Rosario Garcés del Castillo.- This Sunday began ithw the celebration of the feast of France.
The Sisters of the Province of France prepared the liturgy of the day in which we prayed especially for this country. In the morning, we elected the sisters who will form the coordinating commission. They are: Sr. Monique Colrat, Sr. Herminia Rincon Marín, Sr. Deepa Moonjely and Sr. Janet Ceja Sáenz. The president of the chapter, Sr. María Escayola Coris is a member of this commission which is entrusted with the good running of this congregational meeting, in all its aspects. We also had the opportunity to elect the moderators of the chapter, who have, among other functions, to animate the general assemblies and to coordinate their work under the authority of the president of the chapter. Sr. Véronique Margron, Sr. Ángela María Vélez Restrepo, Sr. Maria Elizabeth Caicedo Caicedo, Sr. Anula Irving Suguna, Sr. Ana Patricia Londoño Florez will assume this responsibility.
In the afternoon, we continue the journey through the Congregation. On this occasion, we had the presentation of the provinces of Bogota, Bucaramanga, El Caribe, Spain and France. The innovative way in which the sisters have adapted to provide an appropriate response to the various changes in the social and ecclesial history in which they live is remarkable. The evening, Sr. Luz María Gutiérrez, Administrator of Turena Farm, presented us with a video referring to the work carried out in the framework of the integral promotion of the people who work there with ecological techniques respectful of agriculture and animals.
We ended the day singing French songs, while watching the images of the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower to celebrate this day!
