Capítulo General 2024

Today, after Morning prayer, we gathered in the hall to organize and continue working in commissions.

They announced a day of much reflection, and we started with a hymn to the Holy Spirit, followed by the reading of messages and an act. We proceeded to work in commissions on the proposed topics.

The Eucharist was presided over by the Archbishop of Tours, Monsignor Vincent Jordy, who in his homily highlighted the very complicated world situation, with some very difficult events, even in countries with old democracies, which should lead us to see how we respond from our consecrated life.

In the afternoon, we started with the prayer to the Holy Spirit by Saint Thomas. The Manual of the General Secretariat was presented to us by Sister Ana Patricia Londoño, the result of joint work from the general government and structures, to be approved according to C 200-O1.

It is a renewed Manual based on the update of the 2014 Chapter. It is made with sheets and in colors to facilitate its renewal when needed without having to change the entire set, and it is also grouped by topics: 1) secretariat, 2) process of formation, 3) sisters and the houses, 4) permissions, 5) transfer and departure of sisters, 6) administration and annexes. Seventeen new acts models have been introduced.

We continue to share the work of the commissions. The text of "Serve and administer in responsibility, coherence, and transparency" is analyzed. The fatigue is visible, but the good mood is not lost.
