With the first sisters sent by the Province of Bogotá, the Congregation arrived in Chile in 1960, to the Diocese of San Felipe, to take over two educational institutions: the Abdón Cifuentes School in San Felipe and the Dolores Otero School in Putaendo.
Intuition and missionary zeal of Mère du Calvaire guided the growth and development of the charism of charity of Marie Poussepin to the distant lands. The invitation for the Congregation to go out of France touched the missionary heart of Mère du Calvaire. She knew how to select, encourage, accompany and support the pulse, missionary zeal and professional quality of the first Sisters who were sent to Colombia in 1873.
On June 26, 1961, the first Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation arrived in Terre Voltaica (today Burkina Faso), at the request of His Eminence, Cardinal Paul ZOUNGRANA, then Archbishop of Ouagadougou. In fact, the Prelate wished to have a missionary presence at the Yalgado OUEDRAOGO Hospital Center and for offering this service our Congregation was chosen.
The Congregation has some communities that depend directly on the General Government.
