La Grande Bretèche (Tours), 19/07/2024, Sr. Gemma Morató i Sendra and Sr. Conchi García Fernández - www.domipresen.com.- At 8 in the morning, we set out for Sainville, our hearts in pilgrimage mode, so that this return to the sources may help and enlighten us.
In the bus chartered for the occasion, we prayed Lauds and began to prepare ourselves for this day of external and internal joy. Upon arriving in Sainville, the sisters of the community had everything more than well prepared and were running from one side to another to ensure everyone was attended to.
The splendid, though hot, day accompanied the large group; some were reminiscing about past times, while others were stepping into these places for the first time. The Eucharist, presided over by the parish priest of Dourdan, Fr. Benoït Aubert, and concelebrated by Fr. Orlando Rueda, OP, was very heartfelt.
Later, a tent, as if it were a wedding day, awaited us to share a homemade and varied meal, with the highlight being a beautiful and delicious welcome cake, which is the most important thing when it comes to cakes.
A little time to pray in the room of Marie Poussepin or in the chapel, and we set off for Dourdan, where the community was also eagerly awaiting us. The scorching sun did not prevent a quick visit to the remains of the Church of Saint Pierre and a stop at the Church of Saint Germain to commend ourselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On the way back, we prayed Vespers, and then silence fell on the bus; today there was time for a nap. Tomorrow, work resumes.
Thank you for this very special day; returning to the sources reminds us of who we are.
