Dominicas de la Presentación - Capítulo General 2019

La Turena, Bucaramanga (Colombia), 07/12/2019, r. Marta Diazgranados.- With vigor and enthusiasm, we began Morning Prayer in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity in La Turena.

The Sisters of the Province of Bucaramanga were in charge of the liturgy for the day. At 9:30 a.m., the assembly met in the Chapter Room to start the first session, testing the sound and translation equipment to ensure that they functioned. Then Sister Waldina Benavides Cruz, Provincial Superior of Bucaramanga, welcomed the Capitulars, with words of blessing and gratitude to God that the Chapter was being held in La Turena. She expressed that the house was prepared and adapted with responsibility, affection and generosity for this congregational meeting.

The presence of Sisters from different countries renews, enriches and opens perspectives for the proclamation of Jesus Christ through the service of Charity. La Turena is filled with joy and confidence because the Spirit of God acts and encourages our discernment to go beyond borders. The Eucharist was celebrated at 11:45 a.m., presided over by Father Oscar Eduardo Guayán Perdomo OP, Prior of the Convent of Cristo Rey de Piedecuesta and animated by the choir of the Sisters of the Province.

At 2:30 p.m., following the procedure presented in the document, Marie Poussepin and her Community, we shared about the general organization and procedure to be followed during the Chapter. Through the clarifications and agreements we made, we are now ready for the official opening of the General Chapter. In the prayer of this day we remembered the Dominican friars, who tomorrow will choose their new Master of the Order.
