Return to the sources
Path of humanization and fraternity
Sr. Gloria Patricia Corredor Mendoza, Province of Bogotá.- The governing structures of each institution make it possible to ensure the communion and participation of its members in the search for the common good, as well as to carry out a common reflection to evaluate, overcome, correct, direct, plan and/or project sessions, to continue its mission and not to deviate from the guiding principles, the foundational charisms and the timely responses to today. None of this is possible if we, as its members, do not recognize the importance of our participation and action, which on this occasion calls us as a collective to the arduous task of "returning to the sources, a path of humanization and fraternity". That is, to establish a dialogue between tradition and innovation that strengthens our bonds of communion.
Our delegation to this 56th General Chapter has great expectations for its development, asking the Spirit to give us the readiness to recognize his action in each one of the participants, and at the same time to be an environment of expression, fraternity and freedom that leads to detachment from our own criteria to give way to communion and the search for God's will and what is most appropriate for the journey of the Congregation.
These spaces open up the possibility of immersing ourselves in the challenges that the world presents to us, with the task of responding to them in the light of the Gospel and of our option of life, in order to be a credible reference for the new generations, who can discover in the consecrated life a viable alternative for their future plans.
It is precisely the constant change in all contexts, the very different realities, and the same economic, political, social and even cultural uncertainty that make it necessary to have more dynamic and flexible formation processes that will lead us to respond in an appropriate way, that will free us from conformism, routine and superficiality, and at the same time allow us to be relevant in our mission.
One of the Gospel's most summoning texts was given under the expression "see how they love one another", a challenge for the soul of the Congregation, as Pope Francis has expressed on several occasions; charity, love and fraternity are the ways to be followed in order to overcome the deep limitations that fracture relationships and reveal painful realities due to lack of faith and commitment. For the Congregation, it should be a call to create a deep fraternity that also allows us to cultivate the necessary charisms to be witnesses of life in the style of Jesus and to articulate our mission with the task of the Church.
These challenges are an opportunity for us to purify our intentions from our vulnerability, keeping Christ at the center in order to maintain a deep spiritual life that contributes to overcoming our limitations and moving toward humanization and fraternity. It is with great joy, but also with responsibility, that we prepare ourselves so that this Kairos, in an environment of synodality, will help us to discover God's will as our dear Mother Foundress Marie Poussepin discovered it.
