La Grande Bretèche (Tours), 07/16/2024, Sr. Gemma Morató i Sendra / Photos: Sr. Conchi García Fernández - www.domipresen.com.- Father Orlando Rueda, OP. presided over the Eucharist, as he did yesterday, and urged us in three languages to consider the challenges facing consecrated life today.
In the meeting room, we proceeded to elect the sisters who will review the Congregation's accounts, and then we shared a very lively and extensive discussion on the reality and vitality of our Charism in the world.
Several challenges emerged: the continuation of restructuring, youth-vocational ministry, providing support, space, and training for young sisters, expanding presence in Asia, the average age of the Congregation, balancing tradition and innovation... concluding that we are here together to transform, as indicated by the motto of the General Chapter.
Then we proceeded to work in commissions, which were shared in the afternoon. This session began with a prayer to Marie Poussepin and the approval of a record. The rest of the time was spent sharing the work done by the entire Congregation and contributions from each chapter or assembly on the structures to analyze if some Constitutions should be modified. The sharing was extensive, the dialogue varied, calm, and reflective, highlighting once again the importance of community life.
The fraternal atmosphere of the chapter is surely due to all the sisters and communities who are praying and joining us every day through various and diverse messages.
Despite the tight schedule and ongoing work, the chapter takes the time to celebrate the birthdays of sisters with song and dance.
