Lebanon, 09/26/2024, Sr. Mª Ángeles Flórez Pérez.- On September 18, the sisters of the Ghodrass community in Lebanon had the joy of blessing a cross recently placed on the front wall of our house, lovingly made with the help of our neighbors. The blessing was performed by Monsignor Louis Boery, who lives near our home.
Fortunately, Sr. Bernadette Youssef, the Regional Superior, was with us. We were accompanied by the Sisters of Charity of Besançon, the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine, and the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, as well as friends and neighbors. We were all filled with a simple and profound joy, both during the brief ceremony and the shared coffee afterwards. The violent social situation urges us to strengthen our faith in the Risen Lord. Currently (September 25), the violence in the country has significantly worsened. Thanks to God, we are safe. The neighbors say that, since the war is against the Shia Muslims, the Christian region of the country is secure. Sisters, we appreciate your persevering prayers for peace.
