Oagadougou (Burkina Fasso), 12/03/2019, Sr. Béatrice Kantoro.- Sister Hélène of the Presentation celebrated her 100 years of life on October 25, 2019. The Vice Province of Africa wanted to mark this event on October 12, 2019, during the celebration of the Perpetual Vows and the Silver Jubilee of our Sisters, in Our Lady of Fatima Church of Dassasgho in Ouagadougou.
Sister Hélène de la Présentation was a teacher at the Tang-Zugu School in Ouagadougou from 1963 to 1969. At the time, she was doing well with her students. The event was reported to the Ministry of National Education and Promotion of National Languages. The Minister, Pr Stanislas OUARO decided to honor her with a medal as recognition of the Burkinabe country for her commitment in the education of children. A uniform cloth was chosen for the occasion.
On October 11 at 3:00 pm, we and our guests were around Sister Hélène de la Presentation aux Lauriers: a diocesan reception center that we manage and where Sister Hélène lives. After the opening remarks by Sr. Noëlie KABORE, then the word of the Representative of the Ministry of National Education and Promotion of National Languages, she was awarded the Medal of Academic Palms.
The ceremony ended with the words of Sister Evelyne OUEDRAOGO, Vice Provincial Superior, then by music and dances. May God continue to bless and protect our Sister.
