Dassasgho (Africa), 01/02/2024, MCS.- We begin our day with a prayer full of symbolism. Gathered in the chapel of Saint Dominic of Dassasgho at 8:15 a.m., the capitulars, on their knees, implored the assistance of Emmanuel and the grace of his Spirit. Afterwards, each one, candle in hand, took the light of Christ and everyone in a procession sang the Dominican Salve towards the statue of Marie Poussepin in the playground of the nursery school. This is where we put our candles and sang “Veni Creator.”

We finish our meditation by entrusting ourselves to the fervent prayers of our founding mother, the first guarantor of our charism.

This day of work was essentially dedicated to the opening words of the VII Assembly, to the reading of the letter from Sister María Escayola Coris, General Superior by Sister Herminia and to the hearing of the report on the life of the vice-province during the five years passed by the Vice-Provincial superior, Sister Evelyne Ouédraogo and the economic report of the same period by the Vice-provincial Treasurer, Sister Clémentine Kaboré.

It was these activities that took us until 6:30 p.m., at which time we entered in silence to wait for the appointment of the new government the next day at 10 a.m. After the time of meditation, we welcomed with joy and trust in the Lord the new government for the next five years.
