Luz Karime Mancipe and Eleein Paola Navarro.- On Sunday, February 18, the centenary of the Normal Superior School of the municipality of Convención, Norte de Santander was celebrated, with a varied program that included, Eucharist, recognition to the Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation by the ex- alumni, ceremony of blessing of the new Mission “Maison Marie Poussepin”, parade and private lunch.

The school's centennial celebration was accompanied by special guests, retired teachers of the institution, Bishop Gabriel Angel Villa Vahos, and 24 Dominicans of the Presentation, including the Provincial government. The sisters of the local community officially announced the project of the mission for the municipality and the region of Catatumbo called: "The house of the Young Marie Poussepin", for which the blessing of the first stone and the signed parchment was made for the Bishop and Sr. Carmen Cecilia Flórez Montaño, provincial superior.

The graduates from the School, made recognition through a commemorative plaque to the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation for their service, leadership and integral formation in favor of the Convención community and the region; the work of Sr. Marta Inés Laguado Ortega as rector and protagonist of the hundred years of the institution making engraving of the traces of her hands to be remembered historically. A greater celebration is expected in October when the alumni congregate to enjoy the memories, the friends and spaces to express their feelings of gratitude.
