Chiquinquirá (Colombia), 07/10/2018, Sr. Olga María Botia.-On occasion of the 100 Year Anniversary of the Coronation of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá, as Queen and Patroness of Colombia, the Dominican Friars have put together and agenda of preparation which involves the whole People of God.
The plan with theological basis for the Celebration has been presented to various Institutions such as civil, ecclesiastical and military authorities, as well as to the means of communication: “Colombia needs Renewal.” Our country more than ever needs to turn its gaze towards God. Pope Francis expressed it at the prayer of the Angelus in Cartagena on September 10, 2017: “Just as God wanted to renew the splendour of the face of the Mother of her Son, may the face of Colombia be also renewed.
“The 100 Years of the Coronation of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá as Queen and Patroness of all Colombians must be an opportunity to renew our own lives as men and women of faith. This Jubilee Year started on Monday, July 9, 2018, presided by the Most Reverend Rubén Salazar Gómez, Archbishop of Bogotá. As members of the Dominican Family, we are invited to the activities planned in each Diocese of Colombia, preparing pilgrimages with the Ecclesial and Educational Communities to help us benefit from the graces bestowed during the Jubilee Year.
