Rumania, 02/10/2022, Sr. Victoria Balteanu.- On February 2, the feast of "Presentation of Jesus in the Temple and the Feast of all Consecrated Life" was celebrated in the Universal Church throughout the world. The invitation of Pope Francis to "walk together" in the diversity of consecrated life, encourages us to value each one’s mission and of course he also invites us to safeguard our own Charism for the richness of the Church. Everything is possible if we are open to the signs of the times.
In the Eucharist in the afternoon, Pope Francis addressed all consecrated persons inviting them to meditate on three questions:
1. Who mostly moves us? Is it the Holy Spirit? What is your vision of consecrated life? With what eyes do you see the reality of consecrated life? Like Simeon and Anna, who looked with eyes of hope, so we should look at our consecrated life with hope. Although we are going through a crisis of vocations, it is important to see how Simeon and Anna keep watch, with the same hope when Jesus was presented in the Temple...
2. What do our eyes see? The Holy Spirit opens our hearts and opens our arms to the future, we remain before God in adoration, with joy and without fear of what the Lord offers us.
3. What do we take in our arms? God has placed his Son in our arms too. The center of everything is Christ. Have we lost the capacity to admire at what the Lord is doing?
When our arms no longer embrace Jesus, we fall prey to bitterness. We must embrace him in adoration, open our arms putting him in our center and walk with joy.
Let us follow the advice of Pope Francis and may our hearts be touched may we listen to the Holy Spirit, and open our eyes and arms with joy and trust in the Lord. Let it be so!
