Mexico City (Mexico), 12/07/2023, Sr. Evelyn Guadalupe C. Córdova Grande.- With the heart full of joy our Province received the Visit of the General Government. By faith We know that this visit is God's passage through the province and that is why, like Abraham, we are call to say: "My lord, if you do me a favor, I beg you not to pass by your server without stopping" (Gn 18,3)
On the 27th, Sr. Herminia Rincón, General Councilor, arrived from Rome and on the 28th, Sr. Maria Escayola, Superior General and the Sisters of the General Council Mariamma Paul Ollukaran, Ana Patricia Londoño, Martha Mendieta Aztatzi and Sr. Joanna Fernandes, General Treasurer. Also, the sisters of the Vice-Provincial Government of the United States arrived, Sr. Martha Inés Toro Pérez, Vice Provincial Superior, Sr. Glorina Jugo and Sr. Sabithamol Anthoniamma, Councilors of the Vice Province of the United States and Sr. Vimala Vadakumpadam Treasurer of the Vice Province.
On the 29th we had a pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist in the Chapel of San José, asking blessings for the projects and needs of the Congregation, especially due to the Restructuring process. Also, this day and the 30th June, the governments teams of the United States and Guadalupe Structures met with the General Government in view of the restructuring process.
On June 2 we welcomed the General Government with the presentation of the life and mission of each one of the communities, we make a fraternal sharing with typical dishes of each place and in the afternoon a cultural concert in the Provincial House. The sisters of the General Government left for the communities on June 4.
Sr. Maria Escayola, Superior General, gave the opening message for the visit on June 3 in where she made several invitations to us from the 55th General Chapter, such as Cultivating the attitude contemplative, work humility, simplicity, mutual help; center life on the Word, as well as to deepen the knowledge and communion among us so that the community can be evangelizer by her life and action. In the closing message of the visit that took place on the 21st June H. Maria Escayola also left us very specific invitations such as cultivating life interior, a grateful heart, a spirit of forgiveness, the courage to be imperfect, as well as to assume diversity and renew spirituality.
Undoubtedly, God stopped at our structure and through this visit from our sisters of the General Government each sister of the Province discovered her presence among us. Thank you, sisters of the General Government for communicating God's message to us through his simple life, prayerful and fraternal.
