Songkoy (Philippines), 10/15/2024, Sr. Gina Lontoc.- From October 5 to 13, 2024, our community embarked on a meaningful journey of prayer and reflection through the novena in honor of Blessed Marie Poussepin, culminating in a joyful celebration of her feast at the St. Joseph and Blessed Marie Poussepin Chapel.

Each day of the novena invited us to enter deeper into her spirit of faith in action, reminding us that charity, humility, and service are not just ideals but calls to daily living. This special celebration aligned perfectly with our October observance of the Month of the Rosary in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, weaving together devotion to Mary with the charism of Blessed Marie Poussepin.

The feast day program was a vibrant expression of faith and gratitude, featuring songs, dance performances, choral recitation, and a moving dramatic monologue. These were presented by our students from the weekly catechism classes, whose energy and creativity brought to life the story and mission of Blessed Marie Poussepin. Their heartfelt performances reminded us that her legacy is not confined to the past but is alive and active in the hearts of the young. The monologue gave a glimpse into Marie Poussepin’s journey of faith, while the songs and dances reflected the joy of following in her footsteps.

We are deeply grateful for the active participation of the Marie Poussepin Laity, whose presence and involvement enriched every part of the novena and the feast day celebration. Their dedication to the preparations, reflections, and activities truly embodied the spirit of Blessed Marie. Their support, along with the students' performances, was a powerful reminder of the strength of community and the shared mission that we all carry forward.

Following the lively program, the community gathered for a Eucharistic celebration that filled our hearts with gratitude and renewed our commitment to serve as Blessed Marie Poussepin did—humbly, joyfully, and with love. The liturgy reminded us that every moment of kindness is an encounter with Christ, just as she encountered Him in the poor, the sick, and the forgotten.

We are especially grateful for the presence of our new Superior General, Sr. Mariamma Paul Ollukaran, O.P., whose encouragement and leadership uplifted us all. Her words during the celebration called us to continue living out the charism of Blessed Marie Poussepin with faithfulness and unity.

As we continue through this month of October, honoring both the Blessed Virgin Mary and Blessed Marie Poussepin, may we remain inspired to live faith in action, just as they did. May their examples guide us in our daily lives, calling us to serve with humility and compassion, bringing hope to the world around us.
