Bogota (Colombia), Sr. Ana Francisca Vergara Abril, December, 08, 2024.- This Advent let us make our way with the images that the psalms of the four Sundays offer us.
Ps 98:1-4
Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things:
His right hand has given him victory, his holy arm.
The Lord makes known his salvation,
He reveals his righteousness to the nations:
He has remembered his steadfast love and his faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
The ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth;
make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
Let us sing, let us rejoice, let us shout! Expressions of those who recognize the greatness and power of God. This seems to be the leitmotiv of Psalm 98. Today we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of Mary, who accepts to be the Mother of Jesus. Today we sing of the wonders of the Lord who chose her and recall his mercy for his people.
Singing, praising and rejoicing the Lord is an attitude that awakens in those who are amazed and surprised by what God is doing in them; God continues to work wonders in us, and yet we pass by without contemplating His work and without expressing our admiration for Him.
Mary marveled at the angel's greeting, Mary marveled at her election, Mary contemplated the greatness of our God and sang her amazement in the Magnificat.
Let us ask ourselves: In this season of Advent, what surprises me about God's action? Do I express with ease, in words and gestures, the greatness of the Lord in my existence?
Blessed second week of Advent by the hand of our Mother Mary.
