Jalisco (Mexico), 03/14/2017, Sr. Claudia Ruvalcaba.- On March 10, 11 and 12 about 80 young people gathered at the facilities of the parish of Zalatitan, Jalisco, to have a different experience in their lives. They left aside their vacations, family trips and friends parties to get into the adventure of living the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus in a youthful atmosphere.
Sisters Claudia and Norma gave consulting advice a group of young animators, so that they, in turn, would coordinate this Easter Youth experience for teenagers and young people in their community. It was very encouraging to witness the commitment of these young people and their joy coming from the encounter with the Risen Christ.
The realization of this Youth Easter was the missionary projection of a group of young animators who have lived a process of integral formation accompanied by the sisters who work in the NGO called “Youth Builders of Peace". This activity is part of a project aimed at preventing risk situations in young people and promoting a culture of peace in their environment. "It has been a very pleasant experience to see the growth of these young people we accompany. His commitment, joy and enthusiasm in the preparation and realization of the Youth Easter showed the potential that young people have when they have a cause for giving their life", sisters commented.
The neighborhood where this Youth Easter took place is immersed in a context of violence, marginalization and social segregation. It is classified as red zone within the limits of the city. However, this was not an obstacle for these young people to be seduced by the life of Christ. Their desire for change and to become better persons was the expression of their encounter with the Lord. In addition, they were able to visualize themselves positively within their community. They were testimony that young people congregates for purposes that help them to grow in faith.
