Sr. Gloria Luz Villegas, provincial of Medellín.- Following the conclusion of the 56th General Chapter and after a day of rest, the meeting of the new General Government with the prioresses of the different provinces and vice-provinces of the Congregation was organized from August 10 to 14.
The topics discussed were of great interest to all and were developed through dialogue and listening, where each person's voice was heard and shared. A space of trust was created to express concerns, worries, and to share common projects for the Congregation. The open attitude of all allowed for the hopeful acceptance of the General Chapter's decisions and the discovery of how could we respond faster. Special attention was given to the following topics during reflection and sharing: formation, concerns left by the Chapter, the mission, governance at all levels, economic matters, and communication. During the meeting, there was space for personal dialogue with Sr. Mariamma Paul, our General Prioress, who, with her simplicity and closeness, provided us with the confidence to continue in the mission.
The challenges and obstacles motivate us, as pilgrims of hope, to continue with the process of restructuration, walking together toward the transformation of the Congregation, relying on each sister's openness, and fostering shared responsibility in the community to strengthen our consecration, enhance fraternity, and respond to the mission. We appreciate the presence of Sr. María Escayola Coris and Sr. Joanna Fernandes, who, with their experience, helped in guiding the work.
We thank Sr. Mariamma and each of the sisters of the General Council for their participation and support during the meeting.
