Silver Wedding Anniversary in Bogotá: 25 Years of Fidelity and Hope

Bogotá (Colombia), 12/07/2025, Sr. Nubia Yaneth Chávez.- During this season of Advent, and on the eve of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Province of Bogotá celebrated with deep gratitude and joy the 25 years of consecrated life of Sisters Alba Nadith Rojas Porras, Ana Sofía Rincón Calcetero, Ángela Isabel Díaz Colmenares, Eva Cristina Trinidad Méndez, Gricelda Santana Padila, Luz Nelly Quintana Pérez, María Esperanza Balaguera Álvarez, Nidya Nayibe Núñez Álvarez, Omayra Salazar Díaz, and Rosa Elvira Carvajal Cifuentes—ten sisters who, with determined spirit, continue to offer their lives to God in the charism of Marie Poussepin.

The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Father Marco Tulio, Missionary of Divine Redemption, took place in the Chapel of La Presentación at the Central House in Bogotá. It was a true act of thanksgiving, marked by simplicity, joy, and fervor, reflecting the faith of those who have kept the flame of their consecration burning brightly. Their testimony of perseverance in living the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience stands as a shining beacon for the entire community, especially for the new generations discerning their vocational call. They are living witnesses that religious consecration is not a renunciation, but a fullness that is renewed each day in the Lord’s faithful love.

The Province rejoices and gives thanks to God for the life and vocation of these sisters who, following the example of the Virgin Mary and with an attitude of faith, place their trust in the faithful love of Christ. He alone gives meaning and fullness to our lives.

For each of them, together with their blessed families, we express our gratitude, affection, and prayers. Their witness of consecrated life has been a fruitful seed in many works of charity, education, health care, administration, and human development, touching countless lives with the merciful tenderness of Christ.

With Mary, Queen and Mother of the Presentation, the community joins in this Marian “fiat,” first spoken with youthful fervor 25 years ago and now resonating with the depth of those who have experienced God’s fidelity in the daily journey of mission.

We wish for them that, like lit candles, they may continue to illuminate the path of our Province and be a source of inspiration so that many more young women may dare to consecrate their lives with the same generosity and missionary joy.
