Bogotá: Marie Poussepin Center Foundation: an organized Charity that strengthens our mission

Bogotá (Colombia), 06/11/2026, Sr. Nidya Nayibe Núñez Álvarez.- For several years, the Province of Bogotá, faithful to the charism and within the framework of the processes of Renewal of the Missionary Presence, has sought to respond in an organized manner to the situations of the most vulnerable. As a result of this search, in June 2022 the Marie Poussepin Center Foundation was created. Through the formulation and development of social and entrepreneurial projects, the Foundation channels resources destined for this population and carries out the corresponding follow-up to ensure their sustainability over time, promoting people from the Gospel in the style of Marie Poussepin: wherever there is a Sister of the Presentation and vulnerable or at-risk persons, the Foundation is present. It is not a separate organization, but a means of support for the mission of the Province.

During its three years of existence, the Marie Poussepin Center Foundation has supported 42 projects throughout the Province and 4 projects with other organizations. It focuses on all types of populations at risk and in vulnerable situations who wish to move forward and develop; it responds through its programs: training, entrepreneurship, evangelization, alternative health, scholarships, emergency situations, among others. Now with a more clearly defined organizational and operational structure, on January 24, 2026, after the Open Assembly of the Province and within the celebration of the Feast of the Paschal Mystery of Blessed Marie Poussepin, the Marie Poussepin Center Foundation held its official launch for all the Sisters of the Province.

The event began with the official anthems performed by the Symphonic Band of the National Police; afterwards, the official anthem of the Foundation, “Tejedora de Sainville” (Weaver of Sainville), was presented. Its lyrics originate from a writing by Sr. María Isabel Panqueba (+), “the song of the needle,” which later became a poem, and the music was selected by Nubia Chávez from a proposal created by an application with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

After a deeply meaningful prayer, Sr. Luz Marina Socha (Provincial Prioress) addressed those present from the spirituality that framed the celebration; the institutional video was shown, and Sr. Nidya Nayibe Núñez (Director) clearly presented the purpose of the Foundation, its programs, and how it operates.

In the Marie Poussepin Hall of the Our Lady of the Presentation Central School, a presentation was made of some of the Province’s missions that have been supported by Foundation projects, as well as the networking work carried out with other organizations at the operational headquarters of the Central House, the sewing workshop in Mocoa, FORMASALUD Tunja and Fusagasugá, Usminia and its mission with women, older adults, and urban gardens; San Luis de Palenque with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and the Central House with its presence at the shelter in the Santafé neighborhood, the Heart without Borders project, and the Tejivida project.

We thank the sisters and lay people who arrived early to participate actively and joyfully share their experience in each of the projects to which they belong; likewise, we thank the sisters and guests who accompanied us at this significant moment in the life of the Province.

The Marie Poussepin Center Foundation belongs to everyone; it seeks to strengthen the mission we carry out with the most vulnerable through organized charity. It is a challenge that God places before us: to the extent that we dare to take risks so that something new may emerge, the Foundation will grow, because we trust that God’s Providence always accompanies us, as good daughters of Marie Poussepin.
