Panama City, Churuquita Chiquita, province of Coclé (Panama), 11/30/2025, Sr. Vanessa Arauz Guardia..- November is a month of deep significance for Panama. Each year, the National Feast fill the country with color, music, and patriotic fervor as fundamental events that shaped Panamanian identity are commemorated: the Separation of Panama from Colombia (November 3), the celebration of the National Flag (November 4), the First Independence Movement in La Villa de Los Santos (November 10), and Panama’s Independence from Spain (November 28).
These dates invite us to celebrate history, recognize our roots, and renew our commitment to the nation. In this spirit of gratitude and patriotic pride, the two educational institutions — the Carmen Conte Lombardo Institute in Churuquita Chiquita, Coclé Province, and the Marie Poussepin Educational Center in Panama City — enthusiastically participated in various parades, demonstrating discipline, civic spirit, and deep love for the homeland. Sisters, students, teachers, and administrative staff marched together with joy and a strong sense of belonging, accompanied by the rhythm of the marching band and the waving of the Panamanian flag. The joy and festive spirit were also lived within the religious community.
The history of Panama and community life intertwined to celebrate who we are and what we continue building together.
In a fraternal atmosphere, the Colombian sisters offered a special tribute to the Panamanian sisters, celebrating with affection and gratitude the cultural richness of the country. There was a formal ceremony highlighting the history and national symbols, followed by games, activities, music, and traditional foods that filled the house with color and fraternity. Beyond the celebration, these experiences strengthen community bonds and remind us of the importance of valuing cultural diversity within religious life. Thus, the National Feast not only honored national identity but also enriched coexistence, unity, and shared joy. November was a month of gratitude, identity, faith, and fraternity, in which the history of Panama and community life intertwined to celebrate who we are and what we continue building together.
