Rome (Italy), 12/28/2024, Sr. Nilda Leticia Miranda Romero.- Crossing the Holy Door of the Jubilee 2025 as a General Community was an experience deeply charged with spirituality and meaning, both personal and communitarian. From the moment we approached the entrance, there was a mixture of emotion and humility. Passing through that door, which symbolises the passage to a renewed and reconciled life with God, became a moment of gratitude and hope.
This act allowed us to connect in a special way with a community of pilgrims from different places and cultures, a powerful reminder of the unity and universality of the Christian faith. As pilgrims of hope, crossing the Holy Door was an act of faith that invited us to reflect on the Christian life as a continuous journey towards holiness, marked by small steps of reconciliation, love and service. For each of us, this moment was a renewal of our trust in the Lord and a call to share this hope with the world.
The atmosphere inside the Basilica was one of solemnity and reverence. Every detail, from the light shining through the stained-glass windows to the murmur of prayers, contributed to an atmosphere that invited contemplation and spiritual renewal. For a few moments, we felt the weight of daily worries melt away, giving way to a deep inner peace.
This was also an act of commitment for the whole Congregation. In this time of chapters and assemblies, we renewed our commitment to walk together in faith and to live according to the values of the Gospel. This sacred gesture was an invitation and a reminder that each day is a new opportunity to begin anew, trusting in divine grace, in the deep desire to transform life, seeking holiness in everyday life.
For all of us, it was a profound moment of intercession for the Congregation, the Church and the world, offering our consecrated life as a witness of love and service and as a sign of light and hope in the midst of today's challenges. This common gesture became a visible sign of unity in Christ and a reminder that we are pilgrims in search of eternity.
This ecclesial gesture is also a symbol of an inner journey, an opportunity to open our hearts, to receive God's mercy and to commit ourselves to live with greater compassion and faith. May this experience continue to be a source of inspiration for our daily lives and guide us on our journey towards holines.
