Roma (Italia), 05/06/2016, Sr. María Escayola.- From April 28th to May 5th 2016, representatives from 89 out of the 123 Dominican Congregations which form part of DSI are gathered together in Rome. They have come from all over the world to renew their family ties, to work and discern together and to move forward in collaboration for the sake of our mission.

The theme of the Assembly, “Perfectae caritatis: Sent to preach the Gospel of Mercy” was developed with a different program in which there was space for life experiences as well as for different inputs from the brothers, sisters and laity. The Master of the Order, Friar Bruno Cadoré presented the theme related to communion with mercy and preaching.

In addition to the official matters of the Assembly, there were Reports and Communications from the different areas of apostolic action in each continent, which enable us to appreciate the richness and diversity of the Dominican Charism and the commitment of the sisters to announce the Gospel and to defend the dignity of each person. We live this time of intense work in an atmosphere of loving care, joy and prayer, like an anticipated Pentecost; the diversity of languages and cultures has been inspiring and enriching for everyone.
