Cochabamba (Bolivia), 07/12/2017, Sr. Socorro García A.- In the casa de retiro Marie Poussepin (Marie Poussepin Retreat House) in Cochabamba-Bolivia the second national meeting of the Laity of the Dominicans of the Presentation in Bolivia took place from June 11 to 12. The delegations from the Departments of La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba participated in this meeting. With great hopes and expectations we shared the joy of the meeting and admired the beauty of the place. At the end of these days of rich reflection, Josué Barra, a laity who came from La Paz had an enjoyable talk with some of his companions:
Port-au-Prince (Haiti), 06/18/2017, Sr. María Genoveva Rivera.-After the earthquake of 2010 in Haiti, the Dominican Sisters of the Presentation of the province of Medellín planned to build a house for meetings and retreats in Port-au-Prince, in the service of religious, laity and parishes, among others. This dream became reality from July 2016 when the first stage was put into service with 30 fully equipped single rooms.
Medellin (Colombia), 06/14/2017, Sr. Ana Cecilia Villegas.- On June 8, the new mission in the Province of Medellin, “Maison Marie Poussepin” was blessed. It is “A peaceful place to be happy”. It is a 10 floor house with 100 rooms to receive autonomous and independent adults. The celebration was presided over by Monsignor Ricardo Tobón Restrepo, Archbishop of Medellin.
Bogotá, D.C (Colombia), 06/13/2017, Sr. Juliana Alejandra Triana Palomino.- “Predicando ando. ¡Sencillo y normal!” (Go, Preach. simple and ordinary!), is the name for the Project of the Means of Social Communication (MSC) for the service of preaching in the Province of Santafé. It looks for new means to bring the Good News of Jesus to all the corners of the world.
Venezuela, 06/11/2017, Sr. Nícida.- The experience we are living during these days of protests, where the repression is getting worse every day, there is also a desire of fighting for a free Venezuela from the Venezuelans. This is part of our daily life. Faced with this reality, I contemplate and I ask myself: Is Venezuela a question of Justice and Peace? Because many opponents and government officials go out for you, they shout for you, they organize for you...
Dalmadih (India), 06/10/2017, Project's Group of the Solidarity.- Dalmadih Tribal Development Project is run by Dominican sisters of the presentation in Dalmadih village of Gumla district in Jharkhand, India. The sisters had been here from 1996 and involved in various developmental work. We started a project in the year 2010 exclusively for the development of the tribal group of 28 tolas of 9 revenue villages.
