Rionegro (Colombia), 05/11/2017, Sr. Zabrina Llanos B.- The beautifully decorated Presentation High School of Rionegro opened its doors on April 26th to celebrate and commemorate 100 years of its foundation.
The Dominican Sisters of Charity of the Presentation and the School Community had the great pleasure of sharing this memorable celebration with more than 300 guests. With the quote, “from our mission emerges life and life is mission and mission is humanitarianism, motivation, academics and ecology”, Sr. Blanca Victoria Ramos Botero, the Principal, summed up the audacity of the Sisters and the whole School Community, which enabled them to arrive at this very special day, through their presence to many generations of students who were educated in these cloisters; they are the treasures, the agents of transformation and innovation in the Society of Colombia and outside.
At 10 O’clock, there was a solemn Eucharist to thank for the academic and historical heritage of this well-known School in East Antioquia. For this, representatives of civil, political and ecclesiastical authorities, sisters, families, personnel of the institution and students were assembled. Then, they moved to the School buildings for the reception and ceremony, in which great appreciation and acknowledgements were offered by different groups such as religious, civil and political. The reception lasted till 15:30. Afterwards, there was a pleasant recital of the ymphonic Orchestra of EAFIT University, Medellin.
