The children are present: “Little Seeds of Marie Poussepin”

Bogotá (Colombia), 01/05/2020, Community of Usminia.- During this time of pandemic, the doors of our local community in Usminia have been wide open to provide help to the most vulnerable people and families in the south of Bogota, Capital District of Colombia. We have distributed hundreds of food packages, led virtual meetings with groups from the parish, and promoted different actions regarding the prevention of drug abuse and domestic violence. However, we never imagined that boys and girls from our neighborhood would arrive at our doors, by their own initiative, asking eagerly to start as soon as possible, our apostolic activity in person, and to deepen in our spirituality.

Happy and Holy New Year 2021!

Rome (Italy), LETTER OF SR. MARIA ESCAYOLA, 12/31/2020.- During this Christmas season, which we have lived in a special way in most of our communities and countries, the liturgy speaks to us insistently of light: "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land and in the shadow of death, and a light has shone upon them" (Is 9:1). God has spoken to us through his Son. He is the reflection of his glory" (Heb. 1:2-3). The Word was the true light that enlightens every person" On 1:9), he is a "light to enlighten the nations" (Lk 2:32).

Medellín (Colombia), 12/13/2020, Sr. Rosemary Castañeda.- Every year on December 7, at night, all of us in Colombia go out to light "little candles" at the door of our houses and fill the streets with light. The night of "las Velitas" (the candles) means the radiance that God offered to the Virgin Mary and her acceptance of that divine intervention.

Lectio Divina: Third Sunday of Advent - Year B

Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), SR. CELINE SAWADOGO, December 13, 2020.- "BEHOLD DAYS OF PEACE AND JOY!". Born in 765 B. C, Isaiah, also known as the Prophet of Emmanuel, begins his prophetic ministry in 740, announcing the destruction of Israel and Judah as punishment for their unfaithfulness. For half a century, his ministry was overshadowed by the growing threat that Assyria placed on Israel and Judah. He is the prophet of faith and hope, but also the greatest of the Messianic prophets. During the great crises that his nation goes through, he asks that they trust in God alone, the only way for salvation. He knows that the trial will be hard but hopes that a remnant will come out of it and that the Messiah will be the king for them.
