XIX Enlarged General Council in Spain

Barcelona (Spain), March 31 to April 22, 2016.- “Mercy, Discernment, Communion and Solidarity: the Demands of Mission”. The General Chapter of 2014 invited us to live the present moment, as the 'now' of God, the 'favorable time', in an attitude of discernment, listening and seeking; it asks us to let ourselves be challenged by reality and to respond to the calls of the Church and the world today. As we relook at this invitation, we need to continue to search and walk together, and at the same time, build roads in sincere, fraternal, humble and insistent dialogue.

A new website: "Give reason for our hope"

Rome (Italy), 03/09/2015, Sr. Maria Escayola, Superior General.- With joy I present to you this new stage in the history of the webpage of the Congregation, after a time of rest and renewal. At every meeting or reunion during these recent years the need to venture into the world of Social Means of Communication has been stressed as the "new means for evangelization," to carry everywhere the knowledge of Jesus Christ and his mysteries, according to the desire expressed by Marie Poussepin since the beginning of her foundation.

"Communication has the power to build bridges, to facilitate meetings and inclusion, thereby enriching society," says Pope Francis in his Message for the 50th World Day of Social Communications. It is also for us a means for knowledge and communion that will help us grow in solidarity and participation, to deepen our sense of belonging to a global family and to enter into a conversation with the world.

In the simplicity of daily life, in the complex world of today and through social media networks of communication, we are called to "give reason for our hope" (1 Pt 3:15), with the boldness of faith, the humility of hope and the courage of charity. Thank you very much to all the sisters who have made the reopening of this webpage possible. May it be a means of encounter and the proclamation of the Gospel. Enjoy!
